Review: AYA Lipstick in Just Peachy + Giveaway Winners!

Last week I got some exciting news that I won a small giveaway by Kat from Kitsch Snitch. She's a lovely fellow Australian beauty blogger who has a fantastic blog and I strongly encourage you girls to check her out if you haven't already! I was lucky enough to win a lipstick from AYA Cosmetics in the shade Just Peachy.

I hadn't heard about AYA Cosmetics before until I saw them review by the Kat, but after reading her review and seeing how adorable they looked I couldn't wait to try them out!

AYA's Moisturising Mineral Lipstick claims to be "long-wearing, lip conditioning and naturally scented". They are "vegan, lead-free formula provides rich, creamy, pigmented colour without any toxic dyes or animal by-products". In my opinion these sound wonderful to me! Long wearing, moisturising whilst also being vegan? Yes please!

Surprisingly, I do really love the colour of this lipstick and I'm quite shocked how lovely it looks compared to my tanned skin. I've tried other peach colours before they seem to make me look quite sick and just ...wrong.

The downside though is that I don't find it that moisturising at all. To be fair though, I don't many lipsticks in general to be that moisturising. I do tend to have really dry lips 99% of the time so almost every lipstick I try will end up creasing and patchy. Even if I use a lip scrub and wear lip balm underneath, within an hour or so it will become dry.

As you can see from my lip swatch (taken 15 mins after I applied it), the lipstick is already starting to seep into the creases of my lips and sticking to my dry skin. Not an attractive look at all.

One of the main reasons why I decided to pick Just Peachy was because I didn't think I had that many peachy/coral shaded lipsticks. However after sifting through my lipsticks I found that I did have a few variations of 'peachy/coral' lipsticks. Let's compare!

Surprisingly, I think the closest match to AYA's Just Peachy is YSL's Rouge Volupte in 30. However, I do find that YSL's lipstick is much more moisturising. Similarly though, both lipsticks end up seeping into the creases of my lips.

Overall, I really do love this lipstick, but I don't think I will be able to wear it that often. Which is such a shame as I truly like the colour!

  17. This is a pretty colour but it's a shame it was a bit too dry :( I hate having to exfoliate my lips, apply lip balm and then wait just to wear a lipstick!

  20. i have Aya's particular pink and its a beautiful shade. so lovely. But yes I experience the monster dry issue too. Its such a problem that I've decided to continue on my search for that lovely vegan lead-free pink that doesn't make my lips look like a heart monitor.
